The Great White Emerald is a goshenite gem. It is named for its shared mineral structure with emeralds, and its absence of the green color-inducing elements. Goshenite is often called the “Mother of Crystals,” representing the purest form of beryl, with nearly no impurities. Named after Goshen, a town in the State of Massachusetts in the United States, one of the first areas to discover the gem.
It is considered a museum or collector piece when a goshenite is over thirty carats. Discovered in Mozambique, this 168.20 carat cushion goshenite was selected for its exceptional brilliance and flawless clarity.
