Discovered in the Muzo Valley, The Crown Colombia emerald is the largest and most pristine natural emerald ever unearthed in the Country. Colombian emeralds have been highly sought after for over four thousand years and remain the most famous members of the Beryl family.
The green color in emeralds is a result of trace amounts of chromium and vanadium. Emeralds with this distinct Muzo green color are only found in the deepest mines of Colombia.
The combination of this gem’s size and remarkable clarity is truly astounding. Its subtle inclusions, often called “Jardin,” along with its Muzo green color, and its colossal size make it a true marvel of nature. This gem was hand-faceted by the master emerald cutter, Adolfo Argotty.
